My interest in art started with a visit to the Salvador Dali museum in Saint Petersburg, Florida when I was a child. I was amazed at what a master painter could accomplish as well as how thought provoking art could be. I spent hours gazing at Dali’s work. The painting that inspired me to actively contribute to the art of creation was a masterpiece of extraordinary proportions titled
“The Hallucinogenic Toreador”. Exposure to Dali’s work opened a portal that I gladly stepped through, knowing that in this creative world I found my life’s path. After high school I attended art school but found it very limiting. I decided to seize an opportunity to study abroad and attended Trinity University in Dublin, where I studied philosophy and literature. Upon returning to the states I transferred to a university deciding to study both art and philosophy. I realized during that time that a great artist was also a free thinker and was someone that pushed boundaries externally as well as internally. Initially I started out as a painter in my undergrad but then discovered the 3D world. I was delighted to find a medium in which I could make my ideas come to life. My skills as a classically trained painter were exceedingly useful as those techniques are also applied in the digital world. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Animation and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy I chose to attend the University of Central Florida to study game design. The game industry fascinated me because it was an opportunity to create an immersive experience in which I could contribute to. I received my Master of Science in Interactive Media in December 2010. Essentially I endeavor to create art that pulls you inside a world that is ethereal yet has an elegant brutality. I try to create art that is thought provoking and scratches beneath the surface. By using Maya, ZBrush, and Photoshop (among other programs), I have the freedom to explore infinite variations of my visions in multiple dimensions.
